Electric Shaver

I continue to use a manual razor to shave my head but prefer to use the electric shaver on my face.

I've found that an electric razor produces better results on my face than I used to get with a manual razor.

Benefits for me include less skin irritation, convenience and far fewer cuts. I rarely cut myself with my electric razor. The worst part about cutting yourself with a manual razor is that once you've cut yourself you'll keep reopening the cut if you don’t avoid shaving that area until it heals.

In that regard, I find electric razors to be a better option for me. Plus, I don't need to worry about changing blades, buying shaving cream, etc.

You might also find benefits by using an electric shaver if you have bad skin or moles or freckles that you're worried about cutting with a manual razor.

New generation electric shavers like the one I have also offer the option of a built in moisturizing cream dispenser to help achieve even better results. As I'm shaving, I press a small button on the shaver and it releases a small amount of shaving lotion that gets rubbed into my face and helps to lubricate the area being shaved. An excellent feature that I certainly appreciate!

• Tends to be cleaner than manual razors ie. absence of shaving cream, rinsing blade, etc
• Convenient ie. doesn't require use of a sink, no shaving cream and blades to replace.
• Might offer better results for people with sensitive skin.

Electric shaver: Considerations

• Needs to be recharged.
• Shaver parts eventually wear out or break ie. battery, shaving foils, etc
• Shaver needs to be cleaned properly for optimal results.
